Parish Nurse

Jesus sent the disciples out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. Luke 9:2

The Parish Nurse works together with the pastors and Grace members to meet the health needs-mental, physical and spiritual-of individuals in the congregation. This is part of Christian stewardship-stewardship of one's body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Grace's Parish Nurse

• Counsels individuals when they are ill
• Educates congregation members on the relationship between faith, health, wellness and lifestyles
• Assists individuals making choices about healthcare
• Provides resources and referrals to appropriate services at Grace and in the community
• Visits the sick and grieving
• Facilitates spiritual healing.

The Parish Nurse works with Grace's Health Cabinet, a committee of members with experience in healthcare and related professions.
