Harmony Food Pantry remains open ministering to North Lawndale and surrounding communities. Volunteers are now minimizing contact by distributing prepacked boxes of food at two entrances to the church — a walk-up entrance serving those coming on foot or by public transportation and a drive-through operating in the alley just south of Harmony. Forty percent of clients come on foot.
Since the first weeks of March, the number of households served by the Food Pantry has doubled. On April 22 the pantry gave out food to 414 households, which equates to 1,414 individuals.
Thanks to Grace members for continued prayers, for making masks, for monetary donations, and for the volunteers who have made the trip down to Harmony. To God be the glory!
Food Pantry Manage Diane Carioscio says that when families volunteer together more gets done in a small space as there’s no social distancing requirement!
