The last week in March was Grace School’s scheduled spring break, and the replacement of a heating and air conditioning unit took place as originally planned. Facility Manager Rich Brooks shared some photos from the big day.
The new unit, along with a pallet of hail guards (which protect the unit, obviously, from hail stones), came from Texas and arrived on a flatbed truck in the middle of the night; the driver slept in the cab parked on Division Street.
The next day a big yellow crane in the Concordia parking lot to the south of our building removed the old roof top unit (RTU) from the roof.
And then lifted the new one into place. Installers finished the job up top.
This much-needed replacement unit will serve the 3rd floor classrooms, providing both heat and air conditioning.
