Sign up here for flu and pneumonia vaccinations at Grace on Sept. 28
Walgreens healthcare clinic personnel will be administering flu and pneumonia vaccinations at Grace on Sunday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is not necessary to sign up in advance, but doing so will help in planning. Walgreens will bill your insurance or Medicare, so please bring your card with you on the 28th.
Who should get a flu shot?
• The CDC recommends annual flu shots for everyone over 6 months old. Flu shots are particularly important for people with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems.
• The CDC recommends everyone
65 and older should be vaccinated against pneumococcal disease.
• People younger than age 65 should get vaccinated if they fall into one of the groups with increased risk of serious pneumococcal infection: chronic lung disease (including asthma), heart disease, diabetes, chronic liver disease, alcoholism, sickle cell disease, persons who have lost their spleen, any immuno-compromising condition, chronic kidney disease, or if a patient has a cochlear implant or a cerebrospinal fluid leak. In addition, everyone who smokes cigarettes should receive pneumococcal vaccination.
