Church Vocations Sunday on Jan. 5
Sunday's guest preacher is Daniel Heim, a student at Duke Divinity School preparing for parish ministry. He is a member of Grace and a recipient of a scholarship from Grace’s Church Vocations Initiative, which supports the undergraduate and graduate education of the next generation of leaders for the mission and ministry of the wider church. Education Hour This Sunday
A new series of Making Disciples classes begins this Sunday, for people interested in becoming members of Grace Church and for anyone who would like to learn more about the Christian faith, Lutheranism and the Grace congregation. The class meets in Pastor Modahl's office.
The Bible study group meets this Sunday morning in the conference room to discuss Ephesians, led by Bob Jandeska.
The Adult Education series “This Christian Life” begins a new three-week cycle of discussions on January 5, facilitated by Ernie Tiemann. This week's video features New York Times columnist David Brooks on “Humility in the Time of ‘Me.’” The January Adult Ed schedule is here.
Teen Talk meets this Sunday at 9:45 a.m. There are no Sunday School or Confirmation classes on Jan. 5.
Congregation meeting on January 19
There is a regular meeting of the congregation on Sunday, Jan. 19, at approximately 12:15 p.m. (after the 11:00 worship service). The agenda for the meeting includes: (a) presentation and election of candidates for officer positions, council members, board members, and some committee members; (b) presentation of annual reports; (c) the treasurer's report; and (d) new business (if any). The slate of candidates for election positions will be available on the Grace web site in early January.
