Bach Cantata Vespers this Sunday

Concordia University’s Kapelle is the guest choir at Sunday afternoon’s Bach Cantata Vespers. The cantata is BWV 125, Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin (In peace and joy I now depart), with a text based on the Nunc dimittis, the song of Simeon from Luke 2:29-32 which begins, "Lord, now you let your servant go in peace."  Pastor Costello plays the organ prelude at 3:45 p.m. Grace’s Senior Choir will sing music by Herbert Howells during the service. The homilist is the Rev. Kevin L. Strickland, Director for Worship Formation and Liturgical Resources at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
