Graceful_Evng_2013_LOGO_.jpgSupport Grace School through the Graceful Evening auction

There's a terrific line-up of auction items at Graceful Evening this year, including time at vacation homes, special items from Grace teachers and students, and gift certificates for restaurants and other services. You can bid online or via smartphone app even if you do not attend the event. Or consider making a donation to this year's Fund-A-Need project for the school—equipment for health and wellness education. Look for the link to the live auction site Friday afternoon on the Grace web site.

FP_graphic_March_2015.jpgFaith Perspectives looks at healing after rape and trauma

Next Sunday's Faith Perspectives program on Violence Against Women and Girls focuses on caring for the victims of gender-based violence. What helps them heal as individuals? What would make our culture a safer, more supportive place for trauma survivors? What is the role of the church and the Christian community? Speakers at the session include rape survivor Ruth Schmidt and her mother, Gick Schmidt; Mary Streufert, Director of Justice for Women for the ELCA, and Hillary Wildt and Alissa Catiis, counselors who work with trauma victims. The afternoon’s schedule includes time for questions and answers with the panel of speakers. Read more about the program on the Grace web site. Please join us, and invite friends from the community.

Pastor Faulstich's resignation

Earlier this week you should have received an email and/or a letter from Pastor Kelly Faulstich, announcing her decision to resign her call at Grace and accept a call to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Chicago. Her last Sunday with us will be the Second Sunday of the Easter season, April 12, when we will give thanks to God for her ministry here at Grace Lutheran Church and School. The congregation's leadership is working quickly to retain interim pastoral assistance to work alongside Pastor Shaner during the transition to a new pastoral team. You will hear more in the weeks ahead.
