St. Matthew Passion will be performed at Grace this Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

The musicians of Grace Lutheran Church's Bach Cantata Vespers present a free Palm Sunday performance of J. S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion  joined by some of the best musicians in Chicago.

Listeners are invited to a reception at the intermission, with hors d'oeuvres and wine. Childcare will be available in the church nursery during the performance. There will be a freewill offering at intermission.

The program is supported by the Christopher Family Foundation, the Sukup Family Foundation, the S. Anita Stauffer Music Endowment Fund, and the Legacy of Grace Endowment, along with individual donors to Grace’s Bach Cantata Vespers series.

Grace fifth graders will be wearing white garments on Sunday as they commune for the first time after participating in first communion instruction during the season of Lent. Their garments are a reminder of their baptismal garments, and they have decorated them with symbols of their faith and of gifts given to them by God. Take a few moments on Sunday to greet these young people and ask them about their garment.

Sunday School students and their families meet in Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m. for a Family Sunday, with music and a display of first communion garments.
