Get your car washed this Sunday at a fundraiser for the Kidz Express basketball court
Kidz Express, a program on Chicago’s west side, serves at-risk children, youth and families in one of the nation's most underserved urban environments—the South Austin community. Grace teen John Beck Eagle Scout project is to pour a new, level floor for the basketball court there as his Eagle Scout project. You can support the effort at a car wash this Sunday, April 13, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the parking lot at the Kirk Eye Center, 7427 Lake Street (next to the Jewel-Osco) in River Forest. John has another car wash planned for Sunday, May 18.
Poetry Slam fundraiser on Friday evening. Come to the KidzExpress Poetry Slam performance in the Youth Room this Friday evening, April 11, 6:30 p.m. You'll get a glimpse into the minds and hearts of a diverse group of young poets who range in age from 3rd grade to college. It's sure to be a lively evening--funny, poignant, revealing. A free-will donation supports the Kidz Express basketball court project.
Easter flowers for the altar
This Sunday is the deadline for ordering flowers to beautify the altar on Easter, April 20. There is a sign-up sheet at the reception desk with more information. Choose from a variety of plants. You may bring your flowers home after the 11:00 a.m. service on Easter Sunday.

Gnosticism. Presented by Nicholas Perrin, Professor of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College. Gnosticism (from gnôsis, the Greek word for knowledge or insight), is one of the earliest Christian heresies. Sunday's session, the second of two, is titled "Gnosticism: Then and Now."
Sunday School students and their families meet in Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m. for a Family Sunday, with music and a display of the first communion garments worn by fifth graders who have participated in first communion instruction during the season of Lent.
