Giving thanks for Amy Gillespie's ordination
Amy Gillespie, a daughter of our congregation, will be ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament and installed as Pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard this Sunday, April 17, at 4pm. We include her in our prayers on Sunday morning. Amy is a recent graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. A scholarship from Grace’s Church Vocations Fund helped to support her education for the ministry.

Pillowcases for hospitalized kids
Pillowcases made by volunteers in Grace’s Pillowcase Ministry will be blessed during Sunday worship services. These cases brighten the hospital rooms of sick children served by the Ronald McDonald House at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. Cash donations are welcome to cover the cost of fabric and other materials. Checks may be placed in the offering plate or sent directly to Grace’s business office, with “Pillowcase Ministry” on the memo line of the check.
The Raise the Roof crowd-funding project for Harmony Community Church has raised $41,000 so far from 157 supporters — members and former members of Grace Church, Grace Schools grads who played basketball with James Brooks, young adults who hung out with him at Teen Talk, plus members and friends of Harmony. Help us keep the momentum going. We must make our goal of $50,600 by May 4 to receive the money that will fix the roof at Harmony.
