CROPWalkgirl_copy.jpgVolunteer for the CROP walk

The CROP Walk taking place in Oak Park and River Forest on Sunday, May 6, raises money to feed hungry people in our community and around the world. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised by Walk will benefit local programs such as the Cluster Tutoring program, the Forest Park, Oak Park and Proviso Food Pantries, and West Suburban PADS. The remaining 75% will be used by Church World Service and other international agencies for disaster relief and self-help development projects throughout the world.

Grace's Social Ministry committee members will be in the atrium on Sunday morning seeking volunteers and accepting donations for the Walk. You may register online to walk and encourage donors to support you. The committee also needs volunteers to work at the water stop at Grace. You can also make a donation online.

Dream Act Pilgrimage

On Sunday afternoon, April 29, 3:30 p.m., Catholic parishes in our area are hosting a convocation at Dominican University's Priory Auditorium in support of the Dream Act. The program has been planned and will be presented by undocumented teens and young adults, those in need of the path to citizenship that would be offered through the passage of the Dream Act.

Join fellow Grace members and parishioners from St. Giles, St. Edmund’s, and St. Luke’s in the Dream Act Pilgrimage to Priory Park to show your support. The Grace contingent will meet at the Bonnie Brae entrance at 3:00 p.m. and walk to the Priory for the convocation. Sign up at the reception desk, or just come! The Dream Act offers a path to citizenship for undocumented youth who have spent most of their lives in the U. S. You can learn more about the issue here.
