Handbell concert this evening
Grace handbell choirs, school, youth, and adults, present a concert of their favorite selections tonight (Thursday), at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.
On Sunday, May 25, the Grace Church and School community will honor retiring teachers William Thompson, Ellie Schnack and Maureen O'Connor in the 11 a.m. worship service. A luncheon follows in Fellowship Hall.
Congregation meeting on June 1
A regular meeting of the congregation will be held on June 1 following the 11 a.m. service. Nursery care and a light lunch will be provided. According to the church bylaws, the June meeting is for the purpose of reporting on the budget. You may obtain a copy of the proposed budget from Karen Christopher, church administrative assistant (firstname.lastname@example.org; 708-366-6900, ext. 207).
Over 400 members and visitors gather to worship each week at Grace Church, sharing Christ’s peace and Christ’s meal. Your offerings provide for the pastors who preach and preside over the Eucharist, the beautiful sanctuary and the many musical ensembles that lead us in song. When the singing is done and we are sent into the world, your gifts support the ministries of Grace Church throughout the week: care and comfort for those who are sick, anxious or grieving, Christian education for children, teens and adults, and service in the world beyond our doors.
As of May 18, our offerings for the year totaled $2,731,234. An additional $554,000 is needed in offerings to meet our 2013-2014 ministry expenses. Please consider making an additional gift in support of Grace's ministry before the end of June. Sacrificial gifts, of all kinds, from every member of Grace, will help us meet our budget and continue the work of bringing in, building up, and sending out disciples for Jesus Christ. Thank you!
