Bach Cantata Camp Vespers, Friday at 7:15 p.m.

High-school-age singers and string players will join adult soloists and orchestral musicians to perform Bach's Cantata #100, Was got tut, das ist wohlgetan, at an evening service on Friday, July 25. The orchestral prelude begins at 7:15 p.m. The vespers service marks the conclusion of the week-long Bach Cantata Camp at Grace. Please come and worship with the students, and come to a reception in Fellowship Hall afterwards to congratulate them. Each day at Bach Cantata Camp, Monday through Friday, July 21-25, begins with Morning Prayer at 8:30 a.m. Congregation members are invited to attend.

Musicians from Grace Lutheran Church’s Bach Cantata Ministry will join the musicians and members of Harmony Community Church in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood for a concert and prayer service on Sunday afternoon, July 27, at 4:00 p.m. The outdoor event, inspired by Harmony’s “Stop the Violence” Community Walks, is titled “God’s Mighty Music” and features a performance of J. S. Bach’s Cantata #80, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” Read more.   Driving directions to Harmony.

High School Mission trip still needs a female chaperone

The High School Mission trip can't happen without a female chaperone to accompany the group to Kansas City, July 28–August 3. Students and adults will be working indoors at a school for two days and a homeless shelter for three days. There is no cost to the chaperone--just the gift of your time.
