Faith and calling in the workplace: Grace high school students report on their summer internships

Supported by a grant from Legacy of Grace, six Grace high school students interned with local social service agencies this summer. Michael Danganan worked with RefugeeONE, Bjorn Vogen and Jazzmin Robertson worked at Lutheran Child and Family Services, and John Beck, Olivia McElravey, and Gabe Ho worked with Kidz Express. Come and hear about their experiences this Sunday at 9:45am in the Seminar Room. The students will report on their struggles and achievements and what they learned about themselves and their faith.

Farewell potluck for Pastor Shaner is on Sunday, August 30

The date for the farewell potluck for Pastor Shaner has shifted from September 6 to August 30—next week! The good ol' fashioned Lutheran community meal begins immediately after the 11am service in Fellowship Hall. Hosted by the Board of Elders, it's an opportunity to say thank-you and farewell to Interim Senior Pastor Bob Shaner, who will be wrapping up his work at Grace on September 10. RSVP online, or at the front desk. Freewill donations for a gift for Pastor Shaner may be made online, by mail, or in the offering plate, with a memo noting “Shaner gift.”

Our new Senior Pastor, David Lyle, will be the preacher on Sunday, August 30—his first Sunday morning at Grace.

Our Interim Associate Pastor, Phyllis Kersten, had surgery on her vocal cords yesterday. The surgery went well. She will be out of the office, not talking, for the next two weeks and will gradually return to her normal schedule as her health permits.
