The Grace congregation is invited to join Paul Bouman and his family in celebrating his 95th birthday at an evensong service on Saturday, August 24, at 4:00 p.m. The Grace Senior Choir and vocal and instrumental soloists will perform some of Paul's compositions. After the service there will be more music: Paul's settings of secular texts including poetry by Emily Dickinson, Robert Louis Stevenson and Eugene Field. Refreshments follow in Fellowship Hall. Paul Bouman is Grace's Music Director Emeritus.

Sunday School starts September 8—volunteers needed!

Don’t miss the chance to share your talents and your faith with God’s children! Volunteer as a Sunday School teacher or shepherd. Stop by the Sunday School table in the atrium between services this Sunday as well as next. Meet Julie Modrich, our new Children's Ministry Coordinator, and learn more about volunteering for a four- or five-week rotation. The Sunday School year begins with Rally Day on September 8. You can register your child(ren) up for Sunday School on Rally Day, or sign them up early this morning in the atrium.

Arts in August: Quilting as Part of the Journey of Faith
Kathy Brooks, a teacher at Grace School, describes her journey as a quilter. She has written two quilting books, been in dozens of magazines and has won international quilting awards. She says, “God has used some amazing and unusual circumstances to enrich my life and deepen my faith. Throughout my journey, I have had a needle in my hand, documenting life stories and finding comfort in creative endeavors.”
