A regular meeting of the congregation will be held on Sunday, September 20, following the 11:00 a.m. worship service in Fellowship Hall. Nursery care and a light lunch will be provided. According to the church bylaws, the September meeting is for the purpose of program review and a financial report. Program review will include reports from the school principal, the cantor, and the youth director. See the agenda here.
Come to Sunday School!
Sunday School classes begin this week. Look for a sign in the atrium with information about classroom locations. Students in grades 1–5 will meet for an opening session in the third-floor school commons. Younger children go directly to their classrooms — preschool (age 3 and 4) in the JK room on the lower level of the old building, kindergarten in the first-grade classroom on the second floor of the old building.
Bach Cantata Vespers season begins Sunday with "What God does, that is done well"
This year’s Bach Cantata Vespers season begins this Sunday, September 20, with Cantata #99, “Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan” (What God does, that is done well, BWV 99). The homilist for the service is Robert Rimbo, Bishop of the New York Metro Synod of the ELCA. The guest organist is Martin Jean, professor of organ at Yale University. The freewill offering at the cantata service will benefit the Lutheran Summer Music Program. Read more about the cantata.
