Provide one-to-one care as a Stephen Minister
Ask yourself, “Would my gifts and talents be put to good use as a Stephen Minister?” Stephen Ministers provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, illness, or times of transition. Another training class for Stephen Ministers will begin in January 2015. Learn more about Stephen Ministry this Sunday at “A Taste of Stephen Ministry” in Fellowship Hall, immediately following the 11 a.m. service. A light lunch will be served.
Living generously beyond our walls
Volunteers from Grace Church travel to the kitchen at Fraternité Notre Dame, 502 N. Central Avenue, on the third Monday of every month to make 300 sandwiches for those in need in the Austin neighborhood. Join the Stewardship Committee in the atrium after both services on Sunday to support this program. Bring donations of non-perishable food items that would be great for a lunch bag — items such as cereal bars, wrapped crackers, etc. You can also help by writing a kind note of encouragement to be tucked inside the lunch bags. Sandwich-making volunteers are always needed. Contact Kate Hogenson (email@example.com).
Social Ministry Book Drive
Bring gently used books to the atrium on October 19 and 26. Donations will be shared with local VA and children’s hospitals. All genres are needed—fiction and nonfiction (paperback preferred), young adult paperbacks, and children’s books.
Photo directories are ready for pick-up
The new Grace photo directories have arrived. If you had your photo taken for the directory, please pick up your free copy at the table in the atrium on Sunday morning. If you did not have your picture taken, you can purchase a copy of the directory for $5.
