Bach Cantata Vespers on Sunday
Sunday’s Bach Cantata Vespers celebrates the Festival of the Reformation with Cantata #80, Ein’ feste Burg ist unser Gott (A mighty fortress is our God). Richard Lischer, Professor of Preaching at Duke Divinity School, Durham, N.C., is the homilist. He will also speak during the Adult Ed hour on Sunday. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067, is the preservice music, with Cynthia Fudala, flutist. There’s a cantata preview at 3 p.m. in the Seminar Room, and Bach 4 Us, for children age 7–11, starts at 3:30 p.m.
