What are you thankful for?

The green wall outside the church library provides an opportunity during this Thanksgiving season for you to share expressions of thanks and gratitude to God for blessings received.  The Library Committee invites you to stop by and add your thoughts to those of other Grace members.

ThanksgivingCorn.pngHelp to feed the hungry this Thanksgiving

Sue Foran is working with the sisters at Fraternité Notre Dame as they collect donations for Thanksgiving dinners for people who live in poverty in the Austin community. Sue is collecting frozen or fresh turkeys and pumpkin pies as well as donations of money. (She will do the shopping!) Please bring the items to church on Sunday, Nov. 23, or contact Sue (sforan4@comcast.net) and she will pick them up.

Thanksgiving Day worship

We gather for a festival service of Holy Communion at 10am on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. Music for the day includes Richard Hillert's Festival Liturgy for congregation, choirs, organ and brass.

Bach Cantata Vespers on Sunday afternoon

Sunday's cantata was composed for the last Sunday in the church year. Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (BWV 140) is based on the familiar chorale “Wake, awake, for night is flying.” The organ prelude, played by Thomas Schmidt of St. Peter’s Church in New York, begins at 3:45 p.m. The homilist for the service is Ingrid Schalk, daughter-in-law of Grace members Carl and Noel Schalk.

Please complete the Call Committee survey by Monday

If you have not yet done so, please take some time in the next few days to complete the Senior Pastor Call Committee's survey.  Click here to complete the survey online. You can pick up a paper copy of the survey at the reception desk. The deadline for completing the survey is Monday, November 24. On Sunday, December 7, the Call Committee will host an Adult Ed session between services to discuss the results of the survey, the call process and any concerns you may have.
