Christmas Oratorio performances

Grace's Bach Cantata Vespers ministry is presenting the six cantatas that make up J. S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio at six separate worship services on the liturgical occasions for which they were originally composed. These services continue during the first week of January.

Part 4 – January 1, New Year's Day, Holy Communion at 10am

Fallt mit Danken, fallt mit Loben (
Fall down with thanks, fall down with praises)

Part 5 – Sunday, January 3, Second Sunday After Christmas, Vespers at 4pm (prelude at 3:45)

Ehre sei dir, Gott, gesungen  (Praises to you, God, be sung)

Part 6 – January 6, Feast of the Epiphany, Holy Communion at 7pm
Herr, wenn die stolzen Feinde schnauben  (Lord, when our proud enemies snort with rage)

Sunday School and Confirmation classes resume at 9:45am on Sunday, Jan. 10, with a Baptism Festival in Fellowship Hall. Parents, children and guests are welcome! Sunday School and Confirmation schedule 2015-16

Adult Education classes also resume at 9:45am on Jan.10, with Ralph Klein leading four Sunday sessions on “How the Bible has been read over the centuries and how it might be read today.” Dr. Klein is Professor Emeritus of Old Testament at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Adult Ed's Growing Point Series continues on Jan. 10 with a presentation from Chef Chris Koetke and Jeff Cribbs on "The Role of Food and Hospitality in Ministry at Grace."
