Our mission at Grace Lutheran Church and School is to bring

in, build up, and send out disciples for Jesus Christ. Our school prepares children for a life of discipleship by helping them to grow in faith, knowledge, and character.

Mothers & Daughters-Let's go bowling!!  Please join other Grace School Mothers & Daughters for our 1st Bowling event on March 31st at 6:30 p.m. at Mont Clare Bowling Lanes. Look for an invitation in Tuesday folders.

Give your child a gift they will never forget.  Place an ad just for them in the Grace Lutheran School 2010 Yearbook!  Post a fun picture of your student, some of their art work, or a special note in this keepsake book your child will treasure for years to come.  What a fantastic way to congratulate your graduate!  You can also thank a teacher or show support for your favorite Grace Lutheran team, club or organization.

It's easy to do!  Simply design your ad and forward it to us in hard copy or digital form.  If you need help, give us a rough idea of a desired layout and we will put it together for you.  Space is limited so send your request in soon.  Deadline is March 31st, 2010.  Ad requests are on the website at http://graceriverforest.org/files/Yearbook_Ads_2010.pdf

Health Kits for Haiti and Chile
The Social Ministry Committee is collecting health kit supplies for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) to send to Haiti and Chile. Lutheran World Relief works with local organizations to provide food, water, temporary shelter, and sanitation, as well as to address long-term needs such as restoring local economies, rebuilding infrastructure, getting people back to work, and providing for health and sanitation. You can help by bringing any of the following items to the Grace atrium between now and Palm Sunday (March 28):

* One hand towel, dark color recommended
* One washcloth, dark color recommended
* One bath-sized bar (4-5 oz.) of soap, any brand, in its original wrapping
* One adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging
* One sturdy comb, remove packaging
* One metal nail file or nail clippers with file attached, remove packaging (do not substitute cardboard emery boards for the file)
* Six Band-Aids (or similar brand) preferably 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide, secured with a rubber band

Each health kit requires one of each item. LWR turns ordinary items into tangible symbols of love for people. People who flee their homes quickly do not have time to pack essential items. Health kits can help refugees maintain personal hygiene or contribute to a new start for those who can return home.

Help for Local Haitian Refugees
A local Haitian family recently took in two additional family members from Port-
Au-Prince (a mother and her seven-month-old son) whose home was destroyed in the January earthquake. If you wish to help this family meet increased household expenses (groceries, diapers, etc.), please consider donating Dominick's, Jewel, or Wal-Mart gift cards (they hope to purchase an Aerobed). If purchased through Grace's Scrip program, a portion of the proceeds will also support Grace School. Gift cards can be ordered and/or purchased from Steve Bogdan and then left with the receptionist at Grace's front desk. Steve will be available Thursday mornings during school drop-off, and between services on March 14. Questions? Call or e-mail Karin Danganan at kdanganan@sbcglobal.net or 708-488-0208.

It's "cookie time!"- The Girl Scout Troops at Grace Lutheran School are selling cookies on the following Sunday mornings: March 7 and 14.  Please support our troops by buying everyone's favorite Girl Scout Cookie!
