March 24, 2016

I hope that your Holy Week has been, and will continue to be filled with solemn reflection, new insights, and praise to God for the amazing gift of salvation he gave to us through his son, Jesus Christ.  I really like the way the words to this hymn sum up the week.  “Glory be to Jesus, who in bitter pains, poured for me the lifeblood, from his sacred veins.  Grace and life eternal in that blood I find.  Blest be his compassion, infinitely kind.”  Please know you are welcome to join us each of the next four days for worship, check out our website for worship times.  Blessings on your worship and time off, wherever it may be.

VBS this Summer! – June 20-23 - Send your kids on an over-the-top underground adventure! Grace Lutheran Church and School, along with Village Church of Oak Park, will host Cave Quest VBS, where kids explore the rock-solid foundation of Jesus’ love. Cave Quest VBS is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Science fun, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot! Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project, through a program called Operation Kid-to-Kid™ that will let the kids in our community show God’s mighty love to needy kids in the United States. Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us at Cave Quest Closing on Thursday at 7:45pm, to celebrate Jesus—the light of the world!

The fun starts at 5:30pm with supper and will end at 8:00pm.
Registration will open in April! Make sure you register your children for this life-changing adventure! Please email Julie Modrich with any questions.

Mrs. Hammer is looking for Rainbow Loom rubber bands.  If anyone has some that they would like to get rid of please send them to the school office.
