April 8, 2016

He is Risen!  He is Risen, Indeed.  Alleluia!  Thanks be to God for the redeeming gift given to us through the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ!  This is a gift that cannot be earned, but is given to us freely if we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior.  What a blessing to be able to share this with our students every week we are in school.

Financial results from A Graceful Evening are in.  We raised more than $18,000 for the STEM Fund a Need and almost $40,000 for the school’s general fund.  Thanks to everyone who made this event such a great success!  The date has been set for next year:  March 18, 2017.

Planning for the walk-a-thon on May 25 is beginning.  If you are interested in being part of the planning committee, let me know.  Have a great weekend!

Bill Koehne, Principal

VBS this Summer! – June 20-23 - Send your kids on an over-the-top underground adventure! Grace Lutheran Church and School, along with Village Church of Oak Park, will host Cave Quest VBS, where kids explore the rock-solid foundation of Jesus’ love. Cave Quest VBS is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Science fun, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot! Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project, through a program called Operation Kid-to-Kid™ that will let the kids in our community show God’s mighty love to needy kids in the United States. Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us at Cave Quest Closing on Thursday at 7:45pm, to celebrate Jesus—the light of the world!

The fun starts at 5:30pm with supper and will end at 8:00pm.
Registration will open in April! Make sure you register your children for this life-changing adventure! Please email Julie Modrich with any questions.
