The Grace School walkathon is less than two weeks away. So far 25 families have registered with Pledge Star and nearly $3000 in pledges have been received. This weekend would be a good time to check out the Pledge Star website and send off some email requests to family and friends. The process is simple, with the text of the request already written for you. Be aware that sometimes the emails end up in spam or junk mail, so if you don’t hear from someone after sending a request using the site, you may want to follow-up. If all of our families get involved, even in a small way, we can reach our goal of raising $25,000 to help fund our outstanding programming. Thanks for your help in making Grace a special place, and this walkathon a successful event!
Congratulations to the track team on an outstanding regular season. The team has qualified 17 individual events and 5 relays for the Lutheran School State Track Meet next Saturday and Sunday at Concordia University.

Penny Wars: The Class of 2016 is sponsoring Penny Wars next week! Each class is teaming up with their chapel buddies to collect coins to contribute. In a Penny War, pennies count positively while all other coins count negatively. Participants put pennies in their own jug, and drop their nickels, dimes, and quarters in other classes’ jugs. Quiet money is welcome as well!
The class of 2016 has chosen a gift centered on water. The funds they raise will purchase a bottle filling station for Grace. They will also make a contribution to the Flint Child Development Fund to aid in the immediate relief and long-term care of children affected by the lead poisoning of the water in Flint, MI.

VBS this Summer! – June 20-23 - Send your kids on an over-the-top underground adventure! Grace Lutheran Church and School, along with Village Church of Oak Park, will host Cave Quest VBS, where kids explore the rock-solid foundation of Jesus’ love. Cave Quest VBS is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Science fun, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot! Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project, through a program called Operation Kid-to-Kid™ that will let the kids in our community show God’s mighty love to needy kids in the United States. Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us at Cave Quest Closing on Thursday at 7:45pm, to celebrate Jesus—the light of the world!
The fun starts at 5:30pm with supper and will end at 8:00pm.
Registration will open in April! Make sure you register your children for this life-changing adventure! Please email Julie Modrich with any questions.
