A Special Guest Post!

Hello readers! I'm coming to you today for a mid-week treat, a written review of yesterday's Walther Band Concert by a current Grace parent and church member, Annalise Kristine.

Walther Band Concert: A Preview for Grace’s Students!

On Tuesday morning in the church sanctuary, the students of Grace were treated to a preview of the Walther band Christmas concert, which premiered that night at 7:30 pm.  It was a great way to usher in the Christmas season as students from eight different schools, including Grace, performed four songs including “Away in a Manger” and “The Little Drummer Boy.” The eight schools, known as the East Region, consisting of 33 children, grades 4-8, who come together for performances.

Grace’s own students were represented in all 3 parts of the band: woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Each section of the band showed off their respective instruments allowing students to hear the differences between them, and perhaps even sparking interest for any of them to consider starting lessons! We are privileged at Grace to be able to provide music lessons starting at grade four, and love adding to our music family!

Remembering why we play our instruments, conductor Julie Bernier reminded our students of a line from “The Little Drummer Boy”: “I play my best for Him.” What better time than Christmas for our students to use their musical gifts to honor the coming of our King!

Blessings,

Annalise
