Admission  Policies

Admission criteria
Grace Lutheran School strives to foster a diverse community for families who wish to partner with the school to fulfill its mission. All applicants should be the appropriate age for the grade level to which they are applying, be able to thrive in the school's environment, and be prepared to follow our challenging curriculum.

Age requirements for preschool and kindergarten programs
Students must be three years old prior to September 1 in order to be eligible for our preschool program. Students must be four by September 1 for our junior kindergarten program and five by September 1 for our senior kindergarten program.

When to enroll
We begin accepting applications one year prior to the fall a child would enroll. Members of Grace Church and siblings of students already in the school should complete the enrollment process in January to be notified of admission in February. Students from families new to the Grace community are notified of admission after this time.

Student visit and assessment
Applicants for first grade through eighth grade will be asked to visit Grace for an informal admissions assessment. For students entering PK-SK, a modified student visit will take place. Copies of transcripts from the last two school years and the current year are required for applicants to second through eighth grades. We would also like to receive copies of any standardized test scores.

Record release form and recommendation forms
Submit the confidential Record Release Form and Teacher and Principal Report forms to your child's current school. These forms should be returned directly to Grace School. They are not required at the time you submit your application; however we require that all transcripts and test scores be submitted before a child is accepted.

Notice of Nondiscrimination Policy
Grace Lutheran School considers students on the basis of individual merit and does not discriminate against prospective students or their families on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, gender, religion, national origin, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and identity, or family makeup in the administration of its educational and admission policies and other school-administered programs.
